Compounded acetylcysteine ophthalmic solution is prescribed for patients with conditions involving excessive mucus or abnormal tear composition. It works by breaking down the disulfide bonds in mucus proteins, reducing viscosity and improving ocular surface health. Formulated preservative-free (PF) for patient comfort and reduced risk of preservative-related irritation.
